The city of Glendale, Arizona has an old and rich history, but that doesn't mean it cannot compete with the demands of today's culture.  Glendale is home to sought after communities, excellent shopping, a historic downtown, great entertainment and recreation, good school districts, Arizona State University's West campus, Midwestern University  and most of the professional sports in the state.

Some of the most sought after communities in the valley reside in Glendale.  Glendale Real Estate offers homes in 55 different neighborhoods spread across the city.   There are golf course communities, lake communities, historic homes in the Catlin Court Historic District, and town house/condo communities to name a few.

Arrowhead Towne Center is the local, enclosed mall.  Surrounding the mall are tons of restaurants and other stores, offering plenty of opportunities for shopping and dining.  The Loop 101 allows for quick, easy access to many of the shopping areas in Glendale.  Another popular shopping area and entertainment area is Westgate.  Located at Westgate are AMC Theatres, Dave and Buster's, Fountain Park (a splash area for kids), many dining options such as The Yard House and the Saddle Ranch Chop House, and the Water Dance Plaza where the water fountains put on a show. Next to Westgate are the Tanger Outlets, Glendale's very own outlet mall. Across the street from Westgate is Cabela's, the place for all of your outdoor recreational needs. Just a few miles east of Westgate is Historic Downtown Glendale, named one of the ten best places for shopping by USA Today. It's charming with brick lined sidewalks, antique shops, and ethnic restaurants.  It is also home to Glendale Glitters, the city's award winning holiday light display with more than 1.5 million lights illuminating 16 blocks of Downtown Glendale from the end of November to the beginning of January.

A review of Glendale wouldn't be complete without discussing the lovely parks the city boasts.  The most well-known park in Glendale is Sahuaro Ranch Park, also affectionately known as the peacock park. It is a popular location for fun outdoor family photos in the historic section of the park. There are also plenty of Ramadas and picnic spots as well as playgrounds, sports fields and courts, and a dog park. Not all parks in Glendale fit the description of the typical park.  Some are like Thunderbird Park which is home to great hiking trails on Thunderbird Mountain. Other parks are like the Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center which has a full size gymnasium, a pool, an indoor track, racquetball courts, classes, and a rock climbing wall.

When it comes to education, you have a choice in Glendale.  Some of the schools belong to the Glendale Elementary School District and the Glendale Union High School District, others belong to the Deer Valley Unified School District, some belong to the Washington Elementary School District and still others belong to different charter school districts that have been established such as the Pointe Schools or the Great Heart Academies.

Baseball? Football? Hockey? Yes, Glendale has them all! Glendale is the spring training home of the Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Spring training games can be caught during the month of March at the Camelback Ranch. The Arizona Cardinals play at the University of Phoenix Stadium located in Glendale, right next to Westgate. In the same area is the Gila River Arena, home to the Phoenix Coyotes, Arizona's NHL team.

Glendale is a great place to live because of the sought after communities, the excellent shopping and entertainment, all of the wonderful opportunities for recreation, the choice in schools, and the sporting events.  If you are interested in Glendale Real Estate and would like to buy or sell a home in this great city give me a call at (623) 341-7846 or send me an email.
